Sanne Maloe Slecht was born in 1987 in The Netherlands where she did a BA in photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Upon graduating, her practice shifted from being time-based to become a more tactile one, in which painting had the main focus.
Maloe Slecht participated in the Pilotenkueche artist-in-recidency in 2016 in Leipzig (DE) where she worked towards a successful application for the MA Painting course at the Royal College of Art in London. During her time at RCA she participated in an exchange semester with Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (DE) before graduation in 2019. She has exhibited in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and London.
