Sanne Maloe Slecht: Metaphorically Speaking

Sanne Maloe Slecht was born in 1987 in The Netherlands, where she completed her BA in Fine Art (photography) at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Upon graduating, her practice shifted from time-based to tactile media, in which painting became the main focus. She participated in the Pi-lotenkueche artist-in-residency in 2016 in Leipzig (DE) where she worked towards a successful application for the MA Painting course at the Royal College of Art in London. During her time at RCA she participated in a  programme with Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (DE) before graduating in 2019. In 2020 she was awarded the Mondiaan Fund Artist's Grant Award. She has lectured at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (NL) and at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford (UK). Upcoming shows include solo exhibitions at Frestonian Gallery, London; Eva Leibe Gallery (Genoa) and Galerie Bart (Amsterdam).
